Float Frames

Modern wooden Float frames are an elegant and contemporary way to display your portraits. These frames create the illusion that the photos are floating within the frame, thanks to a slight gap between the edge of the photos and the frame itself. This design detail adds depth and dimension, enhancing the overall look of the frame. Portraits can be printed on three different materials—canvas, acrylic, or metal, each providing a unique look and feel. Handcrafted in Italy, these frames offer exceptional quality in several colour choices. All frames arrive ready to be displayed for a lifetime of enjoyment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where are you located?2024-02-14T22:07:46-05:00

I’m located in Huntsville, Ontario. I service Muskoka and the surrounding area. An additional travel fee may be required outside the Muskoka area.

What happens on the session day?2024-01-24T09:31:01-05:00

We’ll meet at our chosen location and spend about 2 hours together creating some awesome portraits of your fur baby — we’ll explore the location capturing some posed and candid images. I will have treats on hand but feel free to bring your own if your dog has any allergies or special dietary restrictions. Also bring any special toys, clothing, hats, etc. if you want them in the photos. During the session, I like to let the dog’s personality guide how the session will go. Some dogs need extra time to get comfortable with me and my gear and others need to burn off some energy and that’s totally fine! My goal is to have a fun, stress-free session for all. So, if you’re worried your dog may not cooperate or behave during the session, don’t be. I got this! I need a fraction of a second to get the shot. It’s my job to set it up for success. So please relax and enjoy!

Does my dog need to be on a leash?2025-05-08T08:50:33-04:00

Yes, please. Believe it or not, 95% of the dogs that I photograph are on a leash. Leashes not only keep your pup safe, but they’re also important for following local laws when photographing in certain areas. After some master retouching, all leashes are magically removed, you’ll never know they were there!

My dog is shy, reactive, or elderly. How can we do a session?2025-05-08T09:06:09-04:00

No worries! I will work within your dog’s comfort zone. We can choose a location where your dog will feel safe and relaxed, even if that is your own backyard. I have little tips and tricks up my sleeve to gain focus and attention and oodles of patience. And if you’re worried or nervous, your fur baby can pick up on that too so please just relax and enjoy!

Who can come to the session?2025-05-08T10:06:03-04:00

Sessions include all dogs in the same household and pet parents as well. I love documenting the wonderful connection between you and your dog(s). While we can certainly capture a traditional portrait of you both smiling at the camera, my clients especially love the candid images of the moments you share. If you’re a little camera shy, no worries—I can still create some beautiful, creative images that tell the story of your relationship. And if you’d rather stay behind the scenes entirely, that’s absolutely fine. I’m more than happy to put all the focus on your pup and highlight their unique personality.

What about harnesses and gentle leaders, can those be edited out?2025-05-08T09:43:44-04:00

Well, Photoshop does have its limitations. Super-bulky harnesses hide so much of the dog’s chest that it’s very challenging to accurately rebuild those pixels in post-production. Gentle leaders can leave unsightly shadows or pull on dog’s skin, so those are also a challenge to digitally remove. If your dog normally wears one of these for walks, I recommend using it while walking to our location, but also bringing a flat collar to use for the actual shoot. If you need to stick with the harness or gentle leader, it will not be removed.

What if it rains, storms on the day of my portrait session?2024-01-24T09:19:54-05:00

No worries. I’ll keep an eye on weather conditions leading up to the session. If the weather is unfavorable, we’ll simply reschedule for another day.

Do you photograph all year round?2025-05-28T20:53:04-04:00

Yep! We have four amazing seasons to choose from—I love Fall sessions, the colors are so awesome and provide beautiful backgrounds for portraits. Each season can provide for some stellar portraits. It just depends on what you want.

My dog doesn’t know sit or stay. Is that a problem?2025-05-08T09:23:52-04:00

Not at all. Some of the best images come from dogs being their silly, stubborn, wonderful selves. I’ll work with your dog’s enegy, not against it. I’ve got tricks, treats, and plenty of patience to get your pup’s attention– even if it’s just for that split second while I capture each image.

Where are the photo sessions held?2025-05-08T11:20:14-04:00

The sessions can be held wherever your dog feels most at ease, your backyard, a local park, or a favorite outdoor spot.

Do you photograph pets other than dogs?2025-05-08T11:26:07-04:00

While the majority of my clients are dogs and horses, I do photograph cats from time to time.

Do you offer celebration-of-life sessions for dogs?2025-05-08T15:15:07-04:00

I provide celebration-of-life sessions to capture the love and bond you share with your beloved dog during their final days, weeks, or months. These sessions are handled with the utmost care, compassion, and sensitivity. A private and relaxed photography experience tailored to your dog’s comfort. Gentle poses or candid moments that celebrate your connection, and flexible scheduling to accommodate urgent needs.

You are welcome to include family members or other pets who share a bond with your dog. These moments of togetherness are deeply meaningful. I strive to create a supportive environment where you can grieve and celebrate your dog without judgment. Capturing these moments is a way to honor their life and your love for them.

When do I receive my images?2025-11-20T21:09:32-05:00

About two weeks after your session, you’ll receive an e-mail with a link to your private online gallery of your final images. At this time, you can view your images and only pay for the images and products that you love, right from the gallery. And don’t forget about the $100 credit which can be used on any image bundle or physical product, like frames, albums, folio boxes (credit cannot be used towards Ice blocks).

Is this right for me? How much does this cost?2025-11-20T20:44:02-05:00

A successful portrait session is an investment of both time and money, so it’s important to make the right choice for yourself. I understand that your pets are cherished members of your family. They’re adored to the moon and back, often stealing more than their share of the bed—and your heart. That’s why I go above and beyond to ensure they are treated with the utmost care and respect during every session. Beyond just digital images, my focus is on creating heirloom-quality products. These pieces are designed to be a meaningful part of your home, celebrating your dog in a way that brings you joy every day.

A session fee of $290 includes 2 digital images and a $100 credit to be used towards digital image bundles and physical products. Additional images and products are not included in the session fee. You only purchase the images and products that you love.
